At HealThEA, we believe that great tea starts with responsible sourcing. Every tea in our collection is chosen not only for its exceptional quality but also for the sustainable and ethical practices behind its production.
Our Sourcing Philosophy
We work directly with small to medium-sized tea farms and cooperatives, cutting out middlemen to ensure fair prices for growers and fresh, high-quality tea for our customers. This direct trade model allows us to build long-term relationships with our farming partners.
Environmental Commitment
Organic Farming
Over 60% of our teas are certified organic, grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. Even our non-organic teas meet stringent quality standards and are regularly tested for residues.
Biodiversity
We partner with farms that maintain biodiversity through intercropping, shade-tree cultivation, and natural pest management. These practices not only protect the environment but often produce more complex, flavourful teas.
Carbon Footprint
We're actively working to reduce our carbon footprint through carbon-offset shipping and minimal, recyclable packaging.
Fair Labour Practices
We visit our partner farms regularly and ensure:
- Fair wages above regional minimums
- Safe working conditions
- No child labour
- Community investment programs
Our Partner Regions
- Japan (Shizuoka & Uji): Family-owned farms with generations of expertise
- China (Fujian & Zhejiang): Traditional artisan producers
- India (Darjeeling & Assam): Certified fair trade estates
- Sri Lanka (Nuwara Eliya): High-altitude organic gardens
- Taiwan (Ali Shan): Small-batch oolong specialists
Looking Forward
We're committed to continuous improvement. By 2026, we aim to have 100% recyclable or compostable packaging across our entire product line.
When you choose HealThEA, you're not just choosing great tea — you're supporting a more sustainable and equitable tea industry.
